Gamman Container Terrminal was constructed by the government under a long-term
port promotion plan designated as 'forth phase development plan'. This plan is
to strengthen the function of the port of Pusan to accommodate larger vessels
in the near furture by building the largest ever terminal complex in Korea.
Since it began operations in April 1998, it has been actively functioning as
the biggest international trade hub in Korea. It is designed to accommodate
all 5,000 TEU class vessels which cover almost all of the major ports in Asia,
Europe and America.
