Following the commencement of a long-term Contract of Affreightment (COA) with
Korea Gas Corporation in 1995, Hanjin Shipping made its foray into the LNG
transportation market on a full scale as it started to operate M/V Hanjin
Pyongtaek, “Korea’s first membrane type LNG carrier”, on the seaborne trade
route between Indonesia and Korea.
Subsequently, Hanjin took the deliveries of M/V Hanjin Muscat in 1999, M/V
Hanjin Sur and M/V Hanjin Ras Laffan in 2000 to offer services on the routes
of Oman-Korea and Qatar-Korea, securing a prominent position in its
contribution to the growth of the national economy through a stable
transportation of three million tonnes of LNG per annum.
With its profound expertise and know-how in the carriage of LNG that have been
amassed in the course of seamless operation and transportation capabilities
over the last ten years, Hanjin Shipping will endeavour to expand its fleet as
well as proactively take part in future projects in an aim to grow as a global
leader in the sector of LNG shipping.
Hanjin Shipping will make strenuous efforts to deliver clean and convenient
energy to customers with the highest degree of safety, and the achievement of
